RUSSIAN SALON DOG
РУССКАЯ САЛОННАЯ СОБАКА
Let us represent a new young breed which is getting popular in Russia.
Russian Salon Dog is a miniature breed of companion dogs for soul and show that can become the real ring star as well as the perfect pet due to its small size, rich coat and graceful appearance.
The breed has not been recognized by FCI and RKF yet.
The dogs of this breed carry the following distinctive features:
1. There are two varieties of size: up to 23 cm in withers and up to 30 cm in withers;
2. Coat texture is soft, long, straight. On matured dogs the coat falls below and follows the body outline. The hair is parted on the body and down over the back to the root of the tail.
3. Colour. Red and fawn cover all colours from sandy to red. White range includes pure white, blue-merle and spotted. Other colours are allowed except the colour of Yorkshire Terrier (silver and tan).
4. General appearance (conformation) is close to the classic one. Head is rounded, the ears are erect.
5. Any grooming, trimming and hair-dressing are permissible. Coat may be trimmed to give ease of movement and neater appearance, if desired. At the dog show there are no preferences between trimmed and natural coat. And trimmed dogs and the dogs with natural coat texture are evaluated in the same ring.
Russian Salon Dog has being selected on the Yorkshire Terrier basis and crossing with other toy breeds.
